Born and raised on the Isle of Palms, I am a General Contractor with a background in mechanical engineering and have been building homes since 1987. Growing up I had hands-on experience in every phase of construction from foundations to plumbing and electrical to finish carpentry. I received my Bachelor of Science from Clemson University in 1983 in Mechanical Engineering. From there, I started my own business, Todd Poore Contractor, Inc., and have been building and renovating homes all over the area ever since.
My work consists primarily of building new custom homes and renovating existing structures in the Charleston area, with extensive experience involving historic properties. I have done much design-build work where I am involved with both client and architect from project inception to completion. Areas include Isle of Palms, Sullivan’s Island, Downtown Charleston, Folly Beach, Kiawah Island, and Seabrook Island. On the Charleston Peninsula the renovations were to historic structures and consisted of modernizing them while preserving their historic qualities.
